Working in collaboration with trained and licensed mental health professionals, we provide ketamine assisted psychotherapy for treatment resistant depression. Dr. Cole J. Marta, MD has published in peer-reviewed, Kescientific journals on the medical potentials and risks of psychedelics such as ketamine, MDMA, and ibogaine. In 2016, Dr. Marta also co-authored a chapter in the book “The Ketamine Papers”, edited by Dr. Phil Wolfson and published by The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). He first began providing ketamine treatment in psychiatric practice in 2014 under the mentorship of keatmine treatment pioneer Dr. Terrence Early, MD.
Dr. Marta has increasingly directed his efforts to expand the access of this powerful treatment. He has and presented at scientific conferences and organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association, MAPS, Los Angeles Medical Plant Society, and The Aware Project. He has been successful in training and consulting other MDs, resulting in expanding the number of providers. Most recently, Dr. Marta began a collaboration with leaders in the field of psychedelic therapy as another means to expand access to ketamine, and potentially other psychedelic therapies that may become approved in the future.
Mental health professionals in our collaboration have extensive experience in working with non-ordinary states. Uniquely, our collaborators have completed the formal MAPS training program for MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD, and are members of the Los Angeles site research team for the phase II and III trials. With this collaboration, we are very excited to not only be able to provide the opportunity for healing that has been demonstrated with ketamine alone, but in addition to that, broaden the possibilities for healing through the thoughtful application of our unique expertise in psychedelic-assisted therapy.
