In his path working with the medicine, Awaken Your Soul Founder Anthony Esposito began leading retreats full-time with Iboga in Costa Rica.
After being initiated into the Bwiti tradition, experiencing his Rites of Passage and graduating from his shamanic Iboga provider training, he founded Awaken Your Soul with the intention of spreading the healing of this powerful teacher plant.
He currently collaborates with retreats in Costa Rica, British Columbia, Gabon, Africa and also organizes private Iboga retreats in various places.
A beautiful gift available in our lives, Iboga medicine opens channels that enable us to travel deep inside of ourselves, accessing wounds that might be limiting our highest potential.
A profound tool, Iboga is used in spiritual exploration for self-discovery, to heal deep trauma, to teach presence and to manifest abundance in our lives.
Our providers have trained under a 10th-generation shaman from Gabon, Africa to learn the Bwiti tradition and the wisdom of this sacred Iboga medicine. Providers have been pushed through Full Initiations and Rites of Passage into the Bwiti.
Our approach to healing is shamanic, and ceremonies are led with a pure and channeled intention. We live and embody the wisdom of the Bwiti tradition, and are honored to share this knowledge in ceremonial Iboga work.
Our work with this sacred plant is held with deep respect, and we provide an open, loving and protected environment for people to feel safe and free exploring themselves.
During Iboga retreats, our role as providers is to lead ceremony and hold space for others to have their own direct experience and to heal individually. Psycho-spiritual journeys with Iboga unlock the journeyer’s ability to access their subconscious mind and deepen a connection to their soul and the world around them.
Awaken Your Soul uses the full Iboga root, and also works with TA (Total Alkaloid) when the spirit of Iboga says it’s needed. When leading psycho-spiritual journeys, we know it’s best to serve the natural form of this beautiful medicine.
When using the natural root, the recovery process from the person’s journey is much quicker than when using pharmaceutical-grade Ibogaine (used in drug detoxes).
All of our medicine has been harvested with love, gratitude and honor for life. It comes directly to us from our sacred Bwiti tribe in Gabon, Africa. When harvesting Iboga, the Bwiti charge the medicine with protection, guidance and love so that when we receive it, all of those energies are alive.
Iboga’s wisdom is contained in simple truth.Truth is something that everyone can benefit from, no matter their culture, background, spiritual path, past traumas, or patterns.
The simplicity of this sacred medicine is not to be known only for the intensity that comes from drug and pharmaceutical detox treatment. This medicine is here to serve all of us seeking healing—not just those with addictions.
Known by the Bwiti as the Tree of Life, this plant’s healing capability is infinite. There is no limit to how the psycho-spiritual journey can help us on our journey and heal our lives. It has been used for hundreds, if not thousands, of years, and there is an intelligence that originates further back than we could ever imagine.
At Awaken Your Soul, we’ve dedicated our lives to sharing the beauty, love, and the tradition of this sacred Tree of Life.
Awaken Your Soul & Iboga Wellness CenterAYS teams with Iboga Wellness Center, leading Iboga retreats in Costa Rica and offering psycho-spiritual journeys to provide people with a rich opportunity to heal themselves on every level of mind, body and spirit.
At Iboga Wellness, our emphasis is on the spiritual, because healing is much deeper when problems are resolved on the spiritual level first. Physical problems are often the result of deeper underlying spiritual issues.
Our center has been designed to create an environment to support the healing process. Located in the Northwestern corner of Costa Rica, we are about 15 minutes from the Pacific Ocean, with magnificent views of the water from our facility.
On a 400-acre farm with fruit trees, a river, and surrounded by beautiful mountainous landscape, our Iboga retreats are secluded and private, allowing guests to feel safe and comfortable in their journey.
Guest rooms provide a beautiful and serene place to focus on healing and spiritual growth, and accommodations include private bedrooms and bathrooms if desired.
Our treatment center features many areas where you can just be alone, or have a conversation with another guest or a member of our staff. The healing space we have created for treatment is intimate, with groups ranging between five and eight people.
All of our providers have been trained to work with Iboga in Costa Rica and Gabon, Africa by a Bwiti shaman and have been initiated into the Bwiti through a traditional ceremony.
We do not use the pharmaceutical-grade Ibogaine. Ibogaine is extracted from the Iboga tree (Tabernanthe Iboga), but the Ibogaine extraction process causes it to lose many of the incredible properties contained in pure Iboga.
Chemically, Ibogaine contains 1 of 12 alkaloids that naturally occur in Iboga. Instead of using Ibogaine in Costa Rica, we believe that Iboga, in its natural form—and containing all of its alkaloids—is the best way to use this medicine. It is the way nature created it, and it contains organic keys that provide access to the spirit of Iboga.
At our treatment center in Costa Rica, our providers perform ceremonies that are similar to those in Gabon, but are better suited to those from North America and Europe. Most of our staff is from the United States, but we have worked with people from all over the world.
Everyone on our team shares a common goal: to provide an experience that truly heals and allows us to know ourselves better.
Iboga has been found to be extremely helpful in: Creating deep, lasting spiritual transformation Initiating a newfound sense of inner peace Helping people with addiction, depression, PTSD, anxiety, and more by discovering the root of the pain and healing it Forging a reconnection to the soul/spirit.
We love to connect directly to all who are interested in working with this medicine. Please contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to speaking with you!
